Elizabeth E. Pennefather-O’Brien acquired her undergraduate degree from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and her MA and PhD degrees in biological anthropology from Indiana University, Bloomington. She is a full-time lecturer at Medicine Hat College in Alberta, teaching anatomy and physiology to nursing and paramedic students. She has additionally taught physiology and biology for non-majors. Elizabeth is active in a number of professional organizations including the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS) and the Faculty Association at Medicine Hat College. In 2012, Elizabeth was 1 of 5 inaugural recipients of the College Sector Educator Awards bestowed by the Society of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE).
